A task set to repeat after completion waits a full interval from the moment you tick it off. A monthly task finished seven weeks late is next due four weeks after you finished it, not next week. This is the reason the app exists.
A task on a schedule ignores when you finished. The dates never move, and missed occurrences are skipped rather than stacking up.
Check Day starts at in Settings. It defaults to 4am, so finishing something at one in the morning counts as the previous day. If you have crossed time zones, dates stay on the day you chose rather than shifting with the clock.
Check Settings inside Dueish — the Notifications row shows whether iOS has granted permission, and links to the right place if not. Note that iOS only allows an app 64 pending reminders at once; Dueish keeps the soonest 64 scheduled and rolls the window forward as they fire.
Settings shows what iCloud is actually doing, including when it last synced and why it could not. Both devices need to be signed into the same iCloud account with iCloud Drive on. Changes can take a moment to arrive, and a device that has been in the background may only catch up when you next open it.
Tell us what you expected to happen and what happened instead. If it involves dates, the exact dates matter enormously — the due date, when you finished it, and what the app then showed.
